Abhishek Kochar is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal in Mumbai and leads strategy, market entry, commercial and operational diligence for the industrial, automotive and electric vehicle segments for the firm in India. He brings more than 18 years of experience in strategy, operations, private equity and mergers and acquisitions consulting.
Mr. Kochar specializes in market entry strategy, business planning, commercial and operational diligence and performance improvement projects. He has advised clients within leading global and Indian corporates, PE firms and public-sector companies on strategic, operational and investment-related matters and has worked extensively across India, Africa, the Middle East and Europe.
Additionally, Mr. Kochar has led some of A&M’s most significant transactions and consulting assignments in India, including those for a leading regional cement manufacturer; a $1 billion green logistics platform; a leading online eyewear retailer; India’s leading EV B2B platform; an investment by Hero Motors in Ather; an investment in the EV platform of a leading legacy 2W original equipment manufacturer in India; and an investment in a leading EV freight mobility platform.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Kochar spent 13 years with KPMG India and other consulting firms, advising leading Indian and global corporations on their strategy and business transformation agendas.
Mr. Kochar earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Maharishi Dayanand University, India, and an MBA from NITIE, India. He is a frequent speaker at many of the industry’s most notable forums and his thoughts have been published across many leading business publications.
