Alejandro Romero is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Tax in Mexico City. He brings more than 26 years of experience in transactions and consultancy, providing buy- and sell-side due diligence services in a variety of industries. Mr. Romero specializes in key tax planning transactions, including efficiencies in effective tax rate, cross-border transactions and indirect tax efficiencies. 

Mr. Romero has led tax operations across Latin America (Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Panama, Venezuela and Peru) as well as in Ireland, Australia, the U.K. and the U.S. 

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Romero served as Vice President, International Tax in an energy sector company. He has worked as Tax Director in a variety of sectors, including consumer products and retail, energy, telecommunications and pharmaceutical. 

Mr. Romero earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from EBC in Mexico City and an MBA from IPADE in Mexico City. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
