Jason Pizza is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Private Equity Performance Improvement in Chicago.

Mr. Pizza specializes in transaction accounting and accounting advisory services. His primary areas of concentration are IPO readiness engagements, carve-out financial statements, fresh start accounting, restatements, separation assistance, purchase accounting and technical accounting with regard to FASB, IFRS and SEC type issues.

With more than 22 years of accounting and transaction advisory experience, Mr. Pizza has worked with several large and mid-market clients in preparing ventures to go public; the preparation and support of U.S. GAAP/SEC compliant financial statements; and additional deal support and accounting issues, including purchase accounting/opening balance sheet preparation, fresh start accounting, restatement services, audit and financial reporting support and separation services.

Mr. Pizza has worked with clients across a range of industries, including retail, manufacturing, insurance, financial services, energy/oil and gas, hospitality, healthcare, aerospace and defense and software/technology. His notable clients include Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Publicis, Sara Lee Corporation, TXU, Verizon Wireless, International Rectifier, Campbell’s Soup Company, Fred’s Retail and Pharmacy, Plains All American Pipeline, Transdigm and Horizon Pharma.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Pizza spent six years as a Partner with a global accounting firm in Chicago, where he most recently served as the National Managing Partner for Accounting Advisory Services. There, he led large global IPO readiness, sell-side, buy-side and carve-out transactions for several large acquisitions and divestitures both nationally and globally. Additionally, Mr. Pizza has served as a Corporate Controller and Director of Technical Accounting for two large publicly traded companies. He also spent several years in the Transaction Accounting Group of a Big 4 accounting firm.

Mr. Pizza earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Southern Illinois University and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame. He is a licensed CPA in the state of Illinois and a member of the AICPA.
