Jo Hewitt
Ms. Hewitt helps clients react rapidly to urgent business issues, develop effective contingency planning and strategically engage with stakeholders in both consensual and non-consensual situations. She specializes in complex restructurings and insolvencies in the UK and has extensive experience in cross-border restructurings (particularly across Europe and UK offshore jurisdictions). She has worked with clients in a range of industries including, real estate, infrastructure, healthcare and financial services.
Ms. Hewitt led the multiple Nortel CVAs across Europe that saw over $1 billion returned to creditors. She has worked extensively in the real estate sector and has played a key role in a number of public interest insolvencies including hospitals, public infrastructure organizations and financial institutions.
In 2020, Ms. Hewitt was recognised as a global leader in Restructuring and Insolvency by Who’s Who Legal. In 2016, she was identified as one of the top 20 rising Insolvency Advisors by Global Restructuring Review.
Ms. Hewitt earned a bachelor's degree (honours) in accounting and finance. She is a Chartered Accountant, an Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW) licensed insolvency practitioner and a member of the Association of Business Recovery Professionals (R3). She is also the Co-Chair of the London chapter of the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC London).
