Ken Barrette
Mr. Barrette advises private equity and commercial for-profit entities in all aspects of commercial excellence, mergers and acquisition, value creation, SG&A performance improvement, new product and market performance stabilization, health care clinical service delivery, and enterprise shared services optimization.
Mr. Barrette’s notable recent engagements include partnering with a private equity owned managed care behavioral health (MCBH) company on acquisition, integration, divestiture of non-core businesses and on a clinical transformation that led to a successful exit to a national payer; supporting a publicly traded multi-specialty benefits management firm in its divestiture of a health plan subsidiary, clinical and operational transformation of several operating units, and growth implementation of a major state Medicaid pharmacy carve out; and providing integration support for a private equity backed northeast regional health system that expanded to become the largest for-profit health system in the U.S.
Mr. Barrette developed a strategy and growth play book for a large global insurer’s U.S.-based accident and health business and launched its technology transformation; he advised on the integration of multiple vision benefit companies with captive vision lab manufacturing, creating the third largest vision benefit company in the U.S; and served as interim COO managing an eyewear dispensing captive-to-sourced model shift, a new clinical utilization management product launch addressing high cost ophthalmology procedures and an operational synergy realization.
Mr. Barrette earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland. He is Chair Emeritus and current board member of Social Enterprise Greenhouse, which supports innovative social entrepreneurs and enterprises with the tools and networks they need to thrive.
