Russell Hunt is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Private Equity Performance Improvement practice in Houston. He has more than 20 years of experience with private equity clients in the pre- and post- acquisition areas. His focus areas include operations, supply chain, procurement, engineering, and manufacturing.

Throughout his career, Mr. Hunt has been responsible for assessing and implementing solutions for some of the world’s largest private equity portfolio companies. In addition, he has led operations departments, creating value, and savings resulting from operational improvements such as supply chain transformations, costing models, OEE, retail store improvements, and account management initiatives.

Mr. Hunt has developed operations strategies and performance improvement plans for chemical distribution, retail, oil and gas, industrials and tier one automotive suppliers. Key activities include interim management, PMO, spend analyses, strategic sourcing process development, strategic category planning and sourcing, supplier relationship management, end-to-end negotiations, operational reviews and global program management of multiple improvement work-streams.

In addition, Mr. Hunt has developed operational improvement plans for clients including strategic direct materials and indirect product/services sourcing plans, procurement operations, working capital opportunities, sole-sourced contract strategy and negotiation planning, SKU rationalization, real estate consolidation, distribution center operations, manufacturing capacity and flow, cycle time analyses and stocking strategies.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Hunt worked in the BPO segment as an expert in procurement within Accenture where he focused on developing full category plans, supplier management planning and strategically sourced key direct and indirect categories. Additionally, he held several positions with Compaq and Hewlett Packard in direct and indirect procurement, advanced product development and facilities operations. Earlier, Mr. Hunt worked in the automotive sector focusing on lean processes, supplier development, facility transfer and statistical process control. His international experience includes having spent 14 years in the U.K. and two years in Germany.

Mr. Hunt earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and an MBA in finance from Michigan State University. He speaks conversational German.
