Paris, 2nd October 2024 – Leading global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) continues to strengthen its Sovereign Advisory Services (SAS) practice with the expansion of the team into France with the appointment of Thibaud Fourcade as Managing Director.

Mr. Fourcade, who will be based in Paris, will report to Dr. Reza Baqir, Managing Director and Global Practice Leader for SAS. With over 20 years of experience in investment banking, he specialises in serving sovereign entities and financial institutions globally.

The appointment bolsters A&M’s holistic offering to sovereign clients, particularly governments, central banks, State Owned Enterprises (SOEs), and Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs). Fourcade’s expertise further strengthens A&M’s mission to improve debt sustainability, foster access to capital, and promote sustainable economic growth in emerging markets.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Fourcade spent seven years at Rothschild & Co, where he was a managing director in the firm’s Sovereign Advisory team. In this role, he spearheaded the development of the firm’s mandates in emerging markets, leading several debt and equity transactions with local and international investors. He also assisted several governments in designing and implementing economic and financial policies such as privatisation programmes, infrastructure development plans, financial sector support, sectoral funding schemes and related areas.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Fourcade headed the Public Sector team in the Global Markets division of Société Générale. He holds two Master degrees, one in Finance from the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Paris and one in Public Administration from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris.
